Set in the not too distant future, the highways of Australia are ruled by violent gangs who have turned the roads into a battleground and mercilessly terrorize the innocent. Mel Gibson stars as Max Rockatansky, a policeman who is forced to take the law into his own hands when the gang targets him for the death of their former leader.
